Rivers Fiji offers whitewater experiences and the incredible opportunity to experience remote highland villages, dense tropical forests and aqua-blue ocean alive with brilliant corals and wildlife in the heartland of Fiji. In 1998 with support from George’s Wendt, founder of OARS, Nate and Kelly Bricker set up Rivers Fiji and started offering low-impact commercial whitewater rafting trips on the Upper Navua. By the fall of 2000, Rivers Fiji—together with nine local land-owning clans, two villages, a logging company and a government entity—would establish the Upper Navua Conservation Area, providing long term protection for the river and breaking new ground in sustainable tourism.
